Levi’s Made & Crafted: Rock

I created this film for Levi’s Made & Crafted as part of their “Good Things Take Time” campaign. They were interested in films that explored liminal spaces. I was inspired by a walk I had taken with my daughter in the Ozarks one summer. She was 11 years old and wandered through the forest until she came upon a small rock. There was nothing special about the rock, but she liked it and decided to take it home. It was a great moment where nothing and everything happened. It was the sort moment that I wanted more of in my own life: how do we find ways to slow down and be present in liminal moments. I wanted to create that simple feeling of wonder and slowness for this film. It’s all a single take in slow motion, shot by Shawn Michienzi out at the Pigeon Point Light House on the NorCal coast.
